A week off....

I am off this week and enjoying every minute of it.  Dylan is so much fun!  Yesterday we ventured out to the grocery store together.  I do have to admit that I am very lucky and have NEVER taken Dylan to the grocery store for major shopping alone.  Michael always goes with us or I go alone.  Well....yesterday, I decided it was time to take on the challenge.  Dylan did an amazing job.  He sat in the cart and just had fun holding the list.  I got almost everything I needed (I had to go to Wal-mart later...another story).  The hardest part of our journey was unloading the car once we got home.  Dylan is so into everything it was hard to find something for him to do so that I could make two quick trips to the car. (Yes, I loaded myself down each time).
Dylan laid down for his afternoon nap a little before 2 and did not wake up until after 4!!  Mommy could have gotten a lot done, but I searched for Christmas gifts on-line.
Last night, I headed out to Wal-mart after Dylan was asleep.  I went in search for sippy cups.  We have found that Dylan will only use one kind.  He has two of them (one of which is missing the no-spill valve).  I purchased them at Wal-mart months ago.  Of course, they do not sell them anymore!!  So...all day today I have washed and switched out the valve between two cups (juice and milk).
I have dreaded this part of growing up for a long time........NO MORE BOTTLE.  Dylan is in love with his bottle.  We have tried to break the habit for about a month.  I decided that it just wasn't worth the fuss it caused.  I did not want Dylan's baby-sitter to have to deal with the situation.  I knew I was off this week, and we would try our best to say bye-bye to the bottle.  Last night, Dylan took a sippy cup with milk in it just fine.  Today...he has done a wonderful job and has not cried for a bottle at all.  He got a little fussy before his afternoon nap and wouldn't take the milk from the cup.  I think he was just really tired because he went right to sleep.  We will see what the rest of the day brings!  I hope I am packing up bottles tomorrow!!
I'm hearing storms/rain are in our forecast.  This afternoon Dylan and I will venture outside to get some playtime in on this beautiful day!

Wow you are lucky to never had to venture out alone. That is great that he did such a good job! Yay for no bottles (and the cleaning). Enjoy your time with that sweet boy!
