Michael and I worked in our yard this afternoon. A fresh layer of mulch will add the final touch. With the watering ban still in effect, we hope we can keep these alive!!!

The hanging baskets my parents got us for Easter!!!

I hope these flowers grow to fill this pot.

After Church Sunday, at my parents house. Michael had already taken his tie off.

Amazing

Today I truly felt God's grace. I worked over tonight, something I have been doing for three short weeks. I was in the dining room at the nursing home and just caught the eye of one of our male residents. His wife was in bad shape and we all knew she would not last long. He was coming toward me and I quickly asked him if I could help him with something. He said he was going back to be with his wife. I offered to push him the short distance to her room. He quietly said, "if you don't mind." So we went up the hall. As we entered the room, his wife took her last breath. How amazing. It brought tears to my eyes. They were married for so long, he knew that she was leaving him. Just an amazing feeling!!!!! Bitter Sweet!

Spring and Summer

I can't wait for warm weather!! My feet are dying to be in a pair of flip flops. Check out these cute flipflops at Belk.

Rain and Headaches

I have had a headache for two days....the rain. When the pressure in the air rises and the rain comes my head pounds!!!!!! Well anyway, during my adventure of trying to coach Cricket out to walk, I took a few pictures of the rain. Enjoy

Wow

Yesterday Michael and I met my parents at my brothers house for a visit. Well little did we know we were headed right into "tornado alley." We were about thirty minutes from our house and heard on the radio that travel was not advised for the day... Well Michael and I looked at each other and said "Let's keep going." So we headed to my brothers for a visit, since Jacob's game had already been canceled.

We were about 45 minutes from my brothers and he called to let us know that the sirens were going off near his house. My heart started beating fast... I knew we were headed into bad weather. Five minutes later he called back and said they had stopped. The skies were grey but did not look threatening. Michael and I continued to drive. We were two exits from my brothers house and decided to stop for some lunch. We went through the drive through and just after we payed for our food and pulled to the second window... the sirens went off again.

Ok, this time it was not cool, we were in our car and from the look of the sky the storm was in the direction we were heading. I called my brother to find out that it wasn't bad at his house yet but it looked nasty. He told us to find a store nearby to go into until it passed. Michael and I pulled into the parking lot of a goodwill store and a furniture store. We sat in the car, both a bundle of nerves, watching the sky as we ate our lunch. By this time the sirens were no longer going off. We finished our lunch and decided to head towards my brothers.

Wow, that was a scary 15 minutes. The sky was as black as tar and the rain was falling hard. We made it to my brothers just as the sirens went off again. Just 45 minutes later my parents arrived and said it got so bad they could not see the road in front of them.

I believe the next time they say travel is not advised, we will not travel.

After all that we had a great visit. We hung out in the basement and watched the weather go from black and raining to blue and sunny. We all went to this really great restraunt, Family Tradition, then headed home.

New Hobby

A girl I work with is having a baby soon. She is really sweet and I wanted to do something cute for her. She has told me all about the bedding and the colors in the room. So, I painted a basket for her to use in the room. Another girl from work and I are going in together to fill it with diapers, wipes, and lotions. We thought it would be a great idea since this is her second child.

This is a picture of the bedding she is using. It's DwellStudio at Target. It is really cute.
And this is the basket I painted to match.... It's my first one but I think it matches pretty good. Next time I will use a basket that does not have as much space between each layer. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the opportunity to paint another one.

5 Pictures

After reading Carrie's Blog, I decided to take the challenge.

Take 5 pictures around your house that describe you. I could have taken several more but these will do.

I love GA football!! Any Saturday in the fall you can find me in front of the tv.

Photography is one of my passions. I love taking pictures of nature to hang up in our house.

Sunflowers are my favorite. My guest bedroom is full of them.
ok for some reason I can't get the last two pictures to upload.
The 4th picture was a picture of my wedding pictures. Our wedding was the ultimate description of me.... bright colors, outdoors, family, and close friends, a great time.
The 5th picture was of my book shelf full of school text books and teachers guides. I so want to be that "perfect" teacher everyone remembers.
Hopefully I will get those pictures posted soon.

My first Wednesday off

As some of you already know, I do not work on Wednesday anymore. I am trying to get experience and observation time in classrooms. Although, today I took advantage of my first Wednesday off. I spent the morning printing applications and reference forms and updating my resume.

I met my mom for lunch at 1 and then we went around to some of the shops in Lavonia. I found a cute sign but did not purchase it. I think I may try to make it. It said.... PRAYER in big letters in the background and in smaller letters it said "when life gets to hard to stand...kneel" I Love it.

Especially after riding through town and seeing gas prices then reading online about the price of milk. Look at the pictures I found.
