Getting out the door in the morning

Robyn at:  http://southern-sisters.blogspot.com/ wants to know “How do you get out the door in the morning?”

I too am very Type A!  I have a routine and I stick to it!  I lay out my clothes every night before I got to bed.  I have everything ready including what jewelry and shoes I am going to wear.  It makes life a lot easier in the morning.   When I was pregnant with Dylan I picked out 5 outfits for the entire week, ironed them, accessorized them and had them ready.  I would love to get back into this routine.  Only I would probably have to choose 6 just in case I wasn’t in the mood for a particular outfit.  Ok enough rambling!

In the morning I wake up and go straight to the kitchen to take my meds. Both medications I take require that they be taken 30 minutes prior to eating.  PERFECT!  It takes me about 25 minutes to shower, fix my hair, put on my make-up, and get dressed.

I go into the kitchen fix and pack my lunch, make Dylan’s bottles for the day, and eat breakfast.

By the time I finish my breakfast, Dylan is usually ready to get up.  So, I get him up, dress him, and feed him his morning bottle.

That gives me just enough time to brush my teeth and say goodbye!

Every once in a while I have a few minutes left over to sit and play with Dylan!  I love mornings like that!

On another note… this weekend Michael and I cleaned out our laundry room and linen closet.  We are trying to sort through things we don’t need to make room for Dylan’s stuff.  We are outgrowing our little home very fast.  So…how do you stay organized?  What kinds of things do you toss and what kinds of things do you keep (just in case)?

9 Months Old!!

Goodness!!  My baby is growing so fast!
Dylan 192Dylan 203Dylan 198
He is:
Measurements:  He weighs 18 lbs 9 oz (25th percentile).  He is 27 1/2 inches long (11th percentile).  His head is 18 inches (60th percentile).
Eating:  four 7 ounce bottles a day(7 am, 11 am, 3pm, and 7:30pm), cereal and real banana for breakfast, 1/2 – 1  jar of stage 3 baby food for lunch, and 1/2-1 jar of stage 3 baby food for supper.  Sometimes around 6 he will take about 4 ounces of a bottle.  He has fresh fruit, puffs, or some of whatever we are eating when we eat supper at night.
He has had baked beans, green beans, mac and cheese,spaghetti-0’s,  sweet potatoes, broccoli flavored noodles, baked potatoes, and sweet peas from the table.  He loved all it!  We are slowly introducing and transitioning to table food.
Sleep:  He goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 and sleeps until about 7:00 am!  During the week he wakes up about 6:30, when he hears me getting ready.  He takes 2 naps a day.  His morning nap is from 9-10:30 and his afternoon name is around 1:30 until about 3:30.  Sometimes the naps are shorter and sometimes they are longer.  If his afternoon nap isn't long, he will take a short nap around 4:30.  This hasn't happened in a while though.
A few nights ago he had a hard time falling asleep.  He cried (screamed) everytime I put him back in his crib after calming him down.  I finally realized it was the thunder we were having.  He was fine until the thunder rolled.  I ended up laying down with him, getting him to sleep, and then moving him to his bed.  I enjoyed the cuddle time....it doesn't happen very often anymore.
Motor skills:  Dylan is crawling on all 4’s!  He is so fast.  We can’t leave him alone for one second.  He is pulling up and cruising along furniture.  The tv is his favorite thing to pull up on.  He can pincher grasp small items.  His favorite thing to do is dig in the dirt of our house plants.  We moved those tonight!
Language:  He says “dada” all the time.  I think he knows that Michael is “dada” because he says it a lot when he is around him.  He still says bah bah and mama (when whining).  These are just sounds.  He says “Hey” when someone walks in the door.  I this is really a word.
Favorite Toy:  Right now Dylan loves a yellow Easter duck, a blue hippo, a ty monkey, Mickey Mouse, and his exersaucer.  Of course, he loves the dog’s water bowl, our cell phones, and the tv remotes (things he isn’t suppose to have).
Bath time:  He loves taking a bath.  If he is in the kitchen or living room when we go to get his bath water ready, he will squeal at the sound of the water running.  Within seconds he is right by the tub, pulling up on the side.
Teeth:  He has 4 teeth.  Two on the bottom and two on top.  The two on top came in within about a week of each other.
We love him and he is sooo much fun.  He laughs at all my funny faces and thinks his Mommy is so funny.  Michael doesn’t understand why!
Summer time!!  Dylan played in the sprinkler with Grammy!
