Unfortunately, my Uncle Billy passed away in October. He was 39 years old. He died from complications from esphagus surgery.
In November, I had a very busy month with work and family stuff. Thanksgiving was enjoyable as always.
In December we had to put our 18 year-old dashound, Cricket, to sleep. We prayed for months that she would just close her eyes and that would be it for her. It did not happen that way. We know that she felt so loved that she just did not give up. She was eating very well but was losing weight and was unable to walk anymore. It just was sad watching her. The veternarian assured us that we were not doing anything wrong.
Later in December, we celebrated Christmas. It was our first Christmas without Cricket and our first with Freckles. He did not know what was going on. He loved all of his toys that he got. He is such a sweet dog and loves EVERYONE!!!
We rang in the New Year with some awesome friends. It was very low key and very enjoyable.
That brings us to today. It is a new year!!! I really did not get wrapped up in setting a new year's resolution this year. I am terrible when it comes to sticking to them so I have stopped setting them. Although, I do have a few goals for this year and I hope to meet them. So, I guess if you want to call them resolutions, these are mine:
Get back in shape
Leave work no later than 4:15 (with the exception of days we have meetings)
Become more involved at church
and
Eat out only once a week (other than special occassions)
Now, I know that I have set a lot of really high goals, especially the one about work. I like to stay there until I get everything done. I don't want to bring anything home. But, staying until 6:00 on some nights is just crazy.
