can sometimes not be a good thing. Let me explain!!! Last night, I stayed up until 10:00 watching the National Championship game. (ROLL TIDE!!) Before I went to bed I checked one last time on the weather. It was snowing a little. So..... I got my phone tree (a list of numbers of all the teachers) and put it on the table. Michael asked, "What are you doing?" I said, "I'm putting this phone tree on the table so when I get the call about school closing I can call the next person on the list." He laughed. I went to bed. I must have fallen asleep quickly; I never heard Michael come to bed.
Well, I slept really good until about 10 after 5. Freckles was crying and wanted to go outside. I tried to ignore him but that failed. So, I crawled out of bed, put on my coat and shoes and headed outside. I thought I was going to open the front door to white stuff on the ground, or at least ice. NOTHING.
Quickly, Freckles did his business and we ran back inside. It was FREEZING. My thoughts were, "Well I guess I have an hour left to sleep. No SNOW. We will have school." So I laid back down for about an hour. The alarm went off, I got up, got in the shower, fixed my hair, put on my make-up, got dressed, and walked in the kitchen. I was just about to get what I needed to fix my lunch when Michael said, "Someone called your phone last night around 10:45." At this moment I did not know if I wanted to scream at him or throw my phone at him. LOL.....
I looked at my phone, and to my surprise, there was a voicemail. The teacher on the message said, "Hey Amy, It's 10:45, I know it is late, but I just found out that we DO NOT have school tomorrow. I will go ahead and call the next person since I did not talk to you. Enjoy sleeping in!!"
Enjoy sleeping in? I was ready for work!!!! I asked Michael who he thought would be calling my cell phone at 10:45 when it is SNOWING? So, needless to say I did get back in my PJ's and take a little morning nap.
Lesson Learned: Always have cell phone on loud ring right beside the bed. Or, be more specific with hubby and say, "I am putting the phone tree on the table, If my phone rings please answer it and come WAKE me up!!!!!"
