Flop

I got home from work today and the hamburger meat I took out this morning to thaw was still frozen SOLID!!! I knew I had to go to wal-mart to get a few household items so I thought, "While I'm there I will look for something for Dinner tonight."

I gathered the few essential items I needed ( and why is it we run out of toilet paper, deoderant, shampoo, household cleaner, and dust spray at the same time?), and then quickly went to the frozen section.

I came across Bertolli Frozen Dinners (I love the spaghetti sauce they have). I thought this would be perfect. I had chicken for dinner last night so I opted for the pork selection. It was a pasta with pork, panceta, sundried tomatoes, spinach, and a creamy sauce.... Sounds good, Right?

WRONG!!!!! The sundried tomatoes were SOUR. It said dinner for TWO, well not with Michael... I had to heat a veggie along with a salad to go with it. We both picked at the pasta. There were about 10 pieces of diced pork in the entire bag!!!

Needless to say, Michael is eating crackers now and we went to DQ for an icecream after cleaning the kitchen.

So I'm warning you... Don't buy it. It's not worth it.
This is not the exact recipe I bought but the package looks like this.
Wouldn't you grab it thinking it would be GOOD!!

Fall Greeting Cards

Remember the greeting cards I discussed a few posts ago..... Well I can finally post them. I sent them out Sunday and several people have emailed me to let me know they got theirs in the mail (some of those people read my blog). I did not want to spoil the surprise. Well anyway, if you did not get one this time, I'm sorry. Send me your address. I'm coming up with something even better for Christmas (or at least trying to). Enjoy the pictures!!!!!

New Meal Idea

Ok Girls I have a new meal idea for you... VERY quick!!!

You will need:
1 Small Vidalia Onion
1 Can of Chicken broth
1 Jar of sliced Mushrooms
2 bags of Boil in a bag rice
2 pieces of Mahi Mahi (fresh or frozen)
A Veggie

Chop your onion.

Combine Mushrooms (drained), onion, salt, pepper, and a little margarine.

Saute.
Boil "Boil in a bag" rice just as box states.... just use the Chicken Broth. You will have to add a can of water.
Combine the ingredients!!!! Enjoy!!
Serve with blackened Mahi-Mahi (use blackened seasoning, bake in oven for about 20 min.) and I chose Green Giant Broccoli!!!!

My house is decorated for FALL

MY COFFEE TABLE IN THE LIVING ROOM. THE RUNNER IS FROM KOHL'S, THE PUMPKIN ON THE LEFT IF HOME INTERIOR AND THE PUMPKIN ON THE RIGHT IS FROM GARDEN RIDGE. THE LEAF BOWL IS ALSO FROM KOHLS AND THE MINATURE PUMPKINS AND GOURDS ARE FROM GARDEN RIDGE.

THESE PICTURES ARE OF MY FRONT PORCH. THE CLAY JACK O' LATERN IS FROM A STORE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN CHEROKEE, NC. MY PLANTER IS FILLED WITH MUMS THAT WERE PURCHASED AT LOWE'S (98 CENTS EACH). THE LATERNS ON EACH SIDE WERE PURCHASED AT TARGET (YES THIS YEAR)!!! THE LEAF GARLAND WAS RESCUED FROM MY MOM'S "UNUSED" FALL DECORATIONS.

THE FALL FLAGS ARE OF LEAVES FALLING... COULD NOT GET A GOOD PICTURE OF THE BIG ONE. I GOT THESE FLAGS LAST YEAR WHEN MICHAEL AND I WENT TO GATLINBURG FOR A FEW DAYS. THEY ACTURALLY CAME FROM THE CHRISTMAS STORE!!!!

THIS IS IN THE KITCHEN. I USED THREE PUMPKIN JARS AND A LEAF SPRAY. THE CUTE PUMPKIN LATERNS WERE PURCHASED FROM HOME INTERIOR CLEARANCE.

THIS IS THE FALL WREATH I MADE LAST YEAR. IT IS HANGING ON A WREATH STAND RIGHT AS YOU WALK IN THE FRONT DOOR.

I MADE THIS LAST YEAR AS WELL. I GOT THE "CARVING" PUMPKIN FROM MICHAEL'S AND THEN JUST BOUGHT A FEW RANDOM FALL ITEMS. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PUNCH THEM THROUGH THE PUMPKIN. SIMPLE AND EASY.

AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, MY DRESSER. I HAD A RUNNER THAT I WOULD NOT BE USING (MY KITCHEN TABLE IS NOT BIG ENOUGH), SO I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR MY DRESSER. I BOUGHT THIS CENTERPIECE LAST YEAR AT WAL-MART.

I HAVE NOT PUT ANYTHING ON THE TABLE. I HAVE PUMPKIN PLACEMATS BUT I'M NOT SURE IF I WANT TO USE THEM. I MAY MAKE THAT MY PROJECT FOR THIS YEAR!!!

Thursday off!!

We had a very stressful beginning of the week at work... Our state survey!!! They show up unannounced and try to find any and everything they possibly can that is wrong. Well after dealing with that for three days while Michael was on VACATION. I knew I needed to be OFF. My plan was to go in on Monday and ask to be off Thurs and Fri, but when state showed up, my asking was delayed. As soon as state was gone on Wednesday and I could tell that the tension was lifted. I asked.

So today.. Michael and I decided to venture to the North GA Premium Outlets in Dawsonville. We left a little later than planned, just because we were not in a hurry to get ready. We started on our way and got on 85. We saw a fire that had just started by someone's cigarette..... cops were near... Then we saw a sign that said..detour ahead due to an accident. So we decided to get off that exit and not wait on the "designated" detour. Apparently everyone else decided to do the same thing. It took us about 45 minutes to go what should have taken 10 min. We finally made it to Commerce around 12:30 (we left our house at 11). We went through a drive through and continued on our way. Well, Michael did not want to get back on 85.... so we took the LONG way. We were headed towards Dahlonega and two cop cars made us turn down another road... We had no clue why. Well we later found out they were moving a HOUSE down the highway. I thought we would never make it to the outlets. Finally at 2 we made it!!!!! It took us 3 hours!!!!!! I was so ILL.

I told Michael I was going to treat myself to a new purse. The outlets have a coach, kate spade, and burberry store!!!! I was so excited. I did not find a purse that I just loved in the coach or kate spade store, but I did find one at the Burberry store. Unfortunately, I could not find $5oo.oo to pay for the one I liked. CRAZY.

When I got home I got on-line to see what all the hype was about. Burberry was founded in England and Queen Elizabeth wore Burberry clothing and used Burberry accessories. I'm no Queen Elizabeth.....so I guess I don't get a Burberry. CLick here to see the one that is similar to the one I wanted. The one at the outlet was 500.

I did get a pair of Lucky Jeans!! They had them $59.00 (they are usually $110) and then they had them buy one get one 50% off!!!! So Michael got a pair!!

Then I got two of these simple tees from Jcrew. One of mine is GREEN (which I think is "the color" this year, it was everywhere) and one is blue and grey strips. They were 50% off!!!
So... tomorrow Michael and I will be heading to Greenville to shop!!! Maybe I will have better luck with a purse. I also would like to get a few fall dresses!!!
