I added a little “detail” to my classroom this year that will help with management and organization. Enjoy the tour….
My bulletin board…our theme…polka dots! We put up a large banner at the beginning of the hall that says, “Look who we spotted in 2nd grade!” The dots are paper plates, it was easiy and simple. There are dots on the walls throughout the entire hallway!
As you enter my classroom this is located outside….my theme is obviously the ocean.
This is to the left when you walk in the room. Last year I used these ribbons to put vocabulary for the different subject areas. I loved the quick reference. On the top of the cabinet I have “ocean” beanie babies and decorations.
The view from the front of the room.
View from the side of the room.
View from the back of the room.
Storage shelf with center activities!
Smartboard and reading group area. I want to find a cute rug for this area.
I spent most of my time on this shelf! I organized my books by category and labeled the inside of each book with the shelf number and basket. For example a blue one would mean 1st shelf blue basket. I hope everything stays more organized. My classroom library was a nightmare last year.
I wish I had a better picture of my bulletin board….I have one section that says, “Swim into math,” another section that says, “Flip Over This” (I am putting student work here), and the last section says, “Dive into Reading!”
I know most of you that read this blog really don’t care about seeing my classroom, but it helps me to see what I did and what I change/keep from year to year! So, I hope you enjoyed the tour!
