Winter Break

Today was the first official day of winter break. I had so much fun. The day started with Dylan waking up at 7!!! He knew his Mommy wanted to sleep in just a little. We played for a little while, then Dylan ate (he never eats first thing in the morning, he gets that from his Mommy), then Dylan decided to take a nap. This gave me time to do some things around the house and get myself ready. My friend Julie and her son Cooper stopped by for a short morning visit.
Then, it was off to meet Grammy for lunch. This was Dylan's first outing!! He has been to several different houses, but never to a public place. I feel bad I did not get a single picture. We went the LaCabana in Lavonia. There were only about 6 people in the entire place!! It was so nice. Dylan did really good until my food came out. Then, of course, he was sick of the car seat. So, he sat in my lap as I ate. Then, we ventured to one of the local stores, Willow Bend. A sweet lady my mom works with gave Dylan a gift certificate from there when he was born. We finally got to use it. He got an airplane "piggy" bank and a really cute alphabet puzzle book.
After that, my mom and I decided it was to pretty to go home and sit. We took off to Commerce. Dylan had several gift cards from Christmas. We were only successful at one store (Carter's). I could have purchased everything in there!! Dylan ended up with a lot of very cute summer clothes and a possible Easter outfit (depending on the weather).
Dylan did very good in the car to and from Commerce. I think he was sick of being in the car seat because he did not really like the stroller. It only lasted for about 30 minutes. My mom and I then took turns carrying him around. Dylan decided he was through shopping and let us know by completely saturating his outfit!! Thank goodness Mommy was prepared with extra clothes.
I really enjoyed the day out with Dylan. We have been so cautious since he was born. Flu season started the month he was born and from what I hear is still going on. I'm just very paranoid because I have worked in healthcare and also watched my nephew fight for his life and spend 3 weeks in NICU at 9 months old.
Everywhere we went today was not crowded. At one time we were the only people in one of the stores. I just can't wait until spring and summer!!!

Glad you got to get out and enjoy the day with him! You guys are going to have a great summer with him.. He's so cute! Germs are everywhere. People don't stay home these days when they're sick.
