37-39 Weeks

37 Weeks

Week 38

Had to get a picture from the back...everyone makes fun of me and says, "you don't look pregnant from the back, it's when you turn around."

Week 39...it may be had to tell but I can tell he has really dropped!!

Sorry for those that don't want to see the big belly....

It's almost time... and I can't wait to meet our little guy!! The last few weeks have been up and down. I've felt great for the most part but just ready to see Mr. Dylan. I have had several episodes of contractions but nothing close together. Today I am officially 39 weeks.
How far along: 39 weeks
Size of baby: Dr says he is average. Last week I thought he was huge. Now that he is starting to drop, I think he may be a little guy.
Total Weight Loss/Gain: I gained back the 3 lbs that I had lost. Overall I have gained 29 lbs. They said to stay between 25-30...I think I did it!!! When I went for my check-up on Monday my weight was the same as it was the week before.
Maternity clothes: I can still wear some of the shirts/shorts that aren't maternity. It's funny...some of my maternity clothes fit smaller than non-maternity clothes. Maternity pants are a nightmare!! I can't keep them up. Having no hips and no butt is tough.
Gender: It's a BOY!!! I can't wait to see him.
Movement: His movements have slowed down. I feel him at times. This is usually a huge movement and my entire belly looks so funny. I think he is trying to get settled.
Sleep: Actually, I am sleeping much better than I thought I would. I do have to get up and down a few times but I don't have trouble falling back to sleep.
What I miss: I miss sleeping on my back, seeing my feet, being able to wear normal clothes, my energy level, exercising (running in the yard with my dog), and my students. I started my leave yesterday. I can honestly say I miss being at school. It's hard to be at home when everyone is working.
Cravings: My appetite is so funny. Most of the time I don't want to eat anything. I just feel miserable. However, sometimes I feel like I could eat the entire kitchen. I've really been craving sweets, milkshakes, and fruit. I have also been so thirsty. I've been drinking so much water. Vegetable soup and a grilled cheese are at the top of the list for this week. I hope I can find the energy to make it.
Symptoms: lack of energy, braxton hicks contractions as well as a few real contractions, some swelling of ankles and hands, anxious, excited, nervous, cramping in stomach, some heartburn, continued numbness in left leg
Best Moment this week: I had a check-up on Monday. The dr. checked my cervix to see how things were progressing. It did not hurt as bad as I thought it would, but it was very uncomfortable. He said I was dilated 3 centimeters and 50% effaced. He said my cervix was nice and "ripened" so it shouldn't be long. I asked him about a possible induction next week if I make it that far. He was all about it...so if I make it until next Tuesday, I will be induced at 6:00 a.m.!! I hope I don't make it until then. I'm just happy to know there is a plan just in case.
